POSITION: Benefits Specialist
As an integral member of our HR team you will administer our benefits program and ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance with relevant legislative requirements. Responsibilities include benefits, claims administration, responding to employee inquiries, resolving issues and maintaining knowledge of all changes in legislation, trends, and practices.
HOURS: Full-time position available (75 hrs Bi-weekly).
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of a Human Resources program or relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with benefits administration.
- Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel, email, and Internet.
- Previous experience using an HRIS system.
- Previous experience in Disability Management, WSIB, Benefits Plans, and Benefit Records.
- Strong understanding of HR concepts and government legislation such as Employment Standards Act.
- Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- CHRP Designation or in progress.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Capable of performing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process benefit information to computerized benefit system.
- Perform all related functions for benefit carrier requirements.
- Maintain/update all benefit deductions in conjunction with payroll.
- Enter data and generate reports from computerized human resources information system.
- Administer all aspects of medical/dental benefits plans and assist employees with problems and questions, orientation, various claims, etc.
- Administer short-term and long-term disability cases and manage the return-to-work program.
- Administer company RRSP/retirement programs.
