POSITION: Radiology Information System (RIS) / Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) Administrator

LOCATION: Mississauga, ON

POSITION:

The RIS/PACS Administrator is responsible for the day to day operations support for the organizational Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The adminstrator will manage the databases, implement efficient workflow, and interface with other health information systems databases as part of the patient’s Electronic Health Record. It will also be the responsibility of the administrator to maintain the efficient use of the system by various users and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform all related activities for supporting the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS).
  • Preparation of images for digital archiving and assuring quality control of medical diagnostic images and files.
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all PACS associated hardware, software and Network systems ensuring its optimal performance.
  • Submission of company required reports and service documentation.
  • Manual labour as required.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALFICATIONS:

  • Basic electrical knowledge is required.
  • Good Mechanical abilities required.
  • Experience and knowledge to critically review images for diagnostic quality from various imaging modalities required.
  • Good trouble shooting skills required.
  • 3-5 years experience of PACS experience.
  • Clinical background as a Technologist or at least 2 years working closely with Radiology in Radiology Systems Support Role.
  • PACS Administrator Certificate preferred.
  • Degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
