At CML HealthCare, we understand just how stressful diagnostic medical testing can be—the waiting, the apprehension, the concern. No one looks forward to an unknown test or the anxiety of just being a number while a technician performs an intimate procedure on them. This understanding was central to the founding of CML HealthCare in 1971, when we made it our goal to offer compassionate patient care coupled with the highest quality diagnostic services available.

Our philosophy of patient-centred services touched a strong need in the medical diagnostic community. Today, CML HealthCare has become one of the leading healthcare diagnostic services companies in Canada. We are the largest provider of imaging services in Canada and one of the largest community-based providers of laboratory testing services in Ontario.

Our national network is rapidly growing, with 105 medical imaging centres in three provinces across Canada, including 77 locations in Ontario, 19 in British Columbia, and nine in Alberta.

By year-end 2011, we will have performed more than 2.3 million medical imaging scans in Canada and 37.7 million laboratory tests in Canada.

Our medical imaging modalities include: MRI, CT scanning, ultrasound, mammography, x-ray, fluoroscopy, bone densitometry, and nuclear medicine.

CML medical laboratory services include: hematology, biochemistry, cytology, microbiology, and histology. As well, CML is licensed to conduct a broad range of supporting diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms, holter monitoring, and pulmonary function tests.

While your confidence in our services remains a first priority, we know that there is always room for improvement. Because healthcare is continually changing, we are making plans to build a better system of diagnostic care, with a stronger emphasis on women’s health.

The core of our new plan consists of:

• Implementing a new Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) across our medical imaging clinic network to help you get results more quickly.
• Renovating CML HealthCare's clinics with a calm, hospitable, inviting décor to help lessen your anxiety.
• Providing combined lab and imaging locations to improve accessibility for patients while also reducing costs to governmental payors.
• Developing CML HealthCare’s Calgary Women’s Imaging Centre—Canada’s first and only imaging clinic caring exclusively for women—to focus on women’s health strategies. In 2010, we opened a women's health centre in downtown Toronto, the first in the city.
